Modern Masterpiece
Most of the decisions in this modern, sustainable residence were made as much for their physical appearance as they were for their function. We were able to design a system that was part localized systems, part centralized systems, that functions as one cohesive unit. We integrated Lighting, HVAC and Audio/Video Systems throughout the main residence and outdoors. Key features include an “invisible” master suite theater, 2-additional 5.1 surround sound viewing areas with 60” displays, Kaleidescape entertainment server and distributed audio with in-pool aquasonic sound.

As the interiors of this home were remodeled, the homeowners decided to upgrade their audio and video systems as well. Due to the arrangement of the home and the interior design changes, a sleek solution was required for these systems. A 50” display and integrated LCR speaker was installed between a pair of windows. The technology retrofit in this existing residence presented some unique installation challenges. We were able to install a 42” display on an articulating arm with a display mounted Artcoustic LCR speaker, rear surrounds and a hidden subwoofer that look like they were part of the original home, all without any attic or crawl space to work in. A 6-zone distributed audio system was also added for music throughout the interior and exterior spaces.

We received a local advertising agency’s request for hi-tech conference rooms and an impactful piece that would greet visiting clients while showcasing the company’s work. Both conference rooms were equipped with plasma screens and sound systems that are computer compatible and controlled by universal remote. A stainless steel waterfall, complete with a portrait-mounted plasma screen and the company’s logo laser-etched into the steel, displays the agency’s work in the lobby while water passes over top of the screen for a decorative effect.
